NBMTM Announces BCMTMS(TM) Recertification Fee Increase
Effective April 1, 2026
Washington, DC – The National Board of Medication Therapy Management (NBMTM) announces that,
effective April 1, 2026, the recertification fee for current BCMTMS(TM) credential holders renewing for
their next five-year certification cycle will increase from $300 to $450.
NBMTM encourages certificants whose renewal period is approaching to complete their recertification
before the effective date in order to avoid the fee increase.
Act now: If you are a certificant holding the BCMTMS(TM) credential and your renewal time is
approaching, you can avoid the fee increase by recertifying before April 1, 2026.
About BCMTMS(TM) Recertification
BCMTMS(TM) certificants are required to recertify every five years to maintain their credential.
Recertification helps ensure continued professional competence and ongoing commitment to quality
and patient safety in Medication Therapy Management (MTM) practice.

NBMTM Announces Final Standard Registration Deadline for
BCMTMS(TM) May-July 2026 Testing Window
Washington, DC – The National Board of Medication Therapy Management (NBMTM) is reminding
pharmacists that registration to sit for the BCMTMS(TM) Certification examination for the May-July
2026 testing window closes on April 11, 2026.
Pharmacists considering the next step in their professional career in Medication Therapy Management
(MTM) are encouraged to register now. The May-July BCMTMS(TM) exam window is currently open,
and NBMTM urges eligible candidates not to delay.
Act now: The registration fee for candidates wishing to test during the May-July BCMTMS(TM) 2026
testing window will increase to $550 after the April 11 cutoff date.
About the BCMTMS(TM)
The Board Certified Medication Therapy Management Specialist (BCMTMS(TM)) is a specialty
certification administered by NBMTM. The credential supports advanced competence in medication
therapy management and demonstrates a commitment to quality and patient safety.
Eligibility Summary
To qualify to sit for the examination, candidates must hold an unrestricted pharmacist license and a
pharmacy degree, and must qualify through professional practice experience in MTM (generally two
years post-licensure in eligible practice settings) or completion of an NBMTM-approved MTM training
program.
